What elevates Midlands based thermoplastics sheet supplier Eagle Plastics Limited above their competitors, seeing them win new contracts and breaking into new industry sectors? Is it their extensive stockholding of product, nearly 600 tonne of it housed in their centrally located Leicester warehouse?

Next and same day delivery

Is it their next day, or even same day delivery where possible, using their own vehicle fleet to literally deliver exceptional customer service?

Well, it’s that and more, as the company are the first in the UK to have invested and installed a CCM Premier 168 guillotine supplied from Terry Cooper Services.

This latest and highest specification machinery which is capable of a maximum cutting width of an impressive 168cm, is one of the reasons why Eagle Plastics are benefitting from an upturn in sales. Darren Clarke, Managing Director helps explain, ‘As plastic sheet suppliers, here at Eagle we don’t want to just move WITH the times, we want to be AHEAD of it; pioneers and innovators within the thermoplastics industry!

25 years of expertise!

Over the last 25 years, customers have come to rely upon us as industry experts and trust our team to offer the very best advice, customer service and provide value for money.

So much of our growth has been as a result of word of mouth referrals from satisfied customers. But installing the CCM guillotine has given us that extra cutting edge. This investment will help drive down costs and improve efficiencies for our customers.’

CCM guillotine Capabilities

The CCM guillotine is capable of cutting up to 10 plastic sheets at one time, compared to just one sheet when using CNC machinery. It is hyper accurate and programmable to within 0.5mm.

The cut is so clean with a resulting super smooth edge that it eliminates the need for diamond polishing. This reduction and streamlining of man-hours results in a reduction of time and costs.

The accuracy of the guillotine means that it delivers a pristine cut and can reduce the amount of waste material by optimising the sheet size.

Clarke went on, ‘We are well-known as a supplier to the ‘Point of Sale’ industry which is a key market for our thermoplastic sheeting, but the investment of the guillotine has already opened up new opportunities to us. We can now offer an extremely customised service, tailoring the blanks in the cutting tool to the exact location required. This flexibility is essential in markets such as cosmetics where counters need to securely hold and display an array of different shaped bottles and tubes for instance. Clearly, looks are important too, so at Eagle we can colour match plastics to a specific Pantone reference number to mirror corporate brands. Made to measure materials, supplied exactly to your colour, grade and finish requirements. We aim to please!’
