Conductive Polystyrene is a carbon black filled thermoplastic compound that has low electrical resistivity combined with an excellent balance of mechanical properties that make it easy to extrude and thermoform.

There are two conductivity categories:

< or = 103 Ohms enveloping conductivity (hard discharge). The material must counter the buildup of static electricity by preventing and diverting any voltage potential caused by friction.

> or = 104 – < or = 1010 Ohms controlled diverting conductivity (soft discharge). The material must protect the content of transport containers from static fields where electrical fields are reduced in a controlled manner by the conductive properties of the material.
